Victoria’s Secret Returns: A Night of Wings and Wonder
Last night in New York City, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made its triumphant return and it was nothing short of spectacular. After years of reinvention and reflection, the brand delivered a show that felt both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. The runway was alive with energy, diversity, and drama, proving that the Angels are not just back they’re reborn.
Held at a glittering venue in Brooklyn, the 2025 show marked the second year of Victoria’s Secret’s comeback after its six-year hiatus. This time, the brand leaned fully into storytelling, spectacle, and inclusivity. Executive Creative Director Adam Selman described the concept as “a journey from morning to black tie,” and the show followed suit beginning with soft, dreamy looks and ending in full-blown glamour.
The event was streamed live across Prime Video, Amazon Live, and Victoria’s Secret’s social channels, making it one of the most accessible and talked-about fashion moments of the year.
The runway opened with a breath-taking moment: Jasmine Tookes, visibly pregnant, walked in a shimmering gold mesh bodysuit with glowing light-bulb wings. Her presence was both powerful and poetic a celebration of motherhood and beauty, and a nod to the brand’s evolving values. She became only the second Black model to open the show after Naomi Campbell, marking a historic shift in representation.
From there, the show unfolded with a mix of returning legends and fresh faces. Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, and Irina Shayk reminded the world why they’re icons. Adriana wore a crystal-studded bodysuit with sculptural bronze wings—angular, industrial, and architectural. Candice’s look was pure dominance: bronzed, bejewelled, and bombshell. Irina brought full showgirl glamour in a corseted white bodysuit topped with a feathered pink headpiece worthy of Vegas.
The Hadid sisters Gigi and Bella were undeniable highlights. Gigi floated down the runway in blush lace and a sculptural cape that fanned out like petals, while Bella stunned in red satin lingerie with a cascading train that trailed behind her like smoke. Their finale looks—white corsets and feathered wings were classic Victoria’s Secret, polished and powerful.
This year’s casting was a celebration of diversity and individuality. Angel Reese, WNBA star, made history as the first professional athlete to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway. She lit up the stage in two looks, including a rosette-adorned lingerie set paired with a fur cape. Olympic gymnast Suni Lee also made her debut, representing the Pink collection in bubblegum tones and sparkly heels.
Other newcomers included Adut Akech, Iris Law, Emily Ratajkowski, and Precious Lee, each bringing their own energy and style. Barbara Palvin, despite a broken foot, walked with grace and determination earning cheers and admiration from the crowd.
The show’s soundtrack was a masterclass in live performance. Madison Beer opened with “Make You Mine,” her voice echoing through the venue as models glided past in crystal corsets and soft pinks. Her presence was polished, sensual, and perfectly aligned with the brand’s new direction.
K-pop sensation TWICE made history as the first girl group to perform at the show, delivering high-energy renditions of “This Is For” and “Strategy” in fuzzy pink boots and coordinated looks. Their performance was a celebration of global influence and youthful joy.
Karol G brought Latin flair with a drum-accompanied set, while Missy Elliott closed the night with a medley of her iconic hits “Work It,” “Lose Control,” and “Get Ur Freak On” turning the runway into a dance floor and sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Before the show, the Pink Carpet buzzed with celebrity energy. Sarah Jessica Parker arrived in a timeless black Alexander Wang dress and oversized Dolce & Gabbana coat, her look understated yet iconic. Jodie Turner-Smith turned heads in a low-cut bodysuit with ruffles and fringe, prompting host Law Roach to declare her “classy naked.”
Other VIPs included Madison Beer, Hannah Godwin, and Dylan Sprouse, who came to support wife Barbara Palvin. The atmosphere was electric equal parts fashion show, concert, and cultural moment.
Victoria’s Secret didn’t just return it reinvented itself. The 2025 show was a celebration of beauty in all its forms: motherhood, athleticism, age, and artistry. It honoured the legacy of the Angels while embracing a future that’s inclusive, expressive, and emotionally resonant.
From the wings to the music, from the runway to the Pink Carpet, last night reminded us why this show matters. It’s not just about lingerie it’s about identity, empowerment, and the joy of spectacle. And if this is the new Victoria’s Secret, we’re ready to watch it soar.
