PAD London Returns to Mayfair: The Design Fair Shaping Frieze Week’s Cultural Energy

Willy Rizzo

PAD London opened today in Berkeley Square, Mayfair the annual appointment for collectors and aesthetes who live at the intersection of art, interiors, jewellery and design. Running through Sunday October 18, and unfolding in parallel with Frieze London and Frieze Masters, PAD is the fair that anchors design firmly within London’s most important cultural week.

Set inside its signature pavilion, PAD transforms Berkeley Square into a curated world of historical and contemporary design. Unlike Frieze, which focuses on living artists, PAD is where objects, furniture, jewellery, and sculptural design are presented as pieces meant to inhabit real spaces the fair for those who think not only about what hangs on a wall, but what sits beneath it.

Founded in 2007 by Parisian dealer Patrick Perrin, PAD London has become a reference point for collectors who value craftsmanship, material innovation, and the dialogue between art and interiors. Its timing always during Frieze week makes Mayfair unusually electric: galleries, advisors, designers, and international collectors converge within walking distance of Bond Street and Regent’s Park.

This year’s edition brings together established design galleries and rising talents. Exhibitors range from modernist specialists to contemporary studios exploring new material languages. Highlights include tactile furniture pieces, sculptural lighting, collectible design objects, and jewellery rooms that blur the line between adornment and art. Twelve new galleries join the fair, expanding PAD’s global reach and reinforcing its reputation as a destination for discovering the next generation of design voices.

The fair’s rhythm mirrors its audience: mornings for collectors and advisors comparing dimensions and provenance; afternoons for designers sourcing pieces for live projects; and evenings for the cultural crowd moving between PAD and Frieze’s openings. With Frieze Sculpture in Regent’s Park offering a free outdoor interlude, PAD becomes the design‑centric counterpoint to the week’s contemporary art energy.

Running until Sunday, PAD London is more than a fair it is a curated experience that celebrates how design shapes the way we live. For those passionate about interiors, architecture, and collectible objects, Berkeley Square is the place where ideas, materials, and aesthetics converge. And with Frieze unfolding simultaneously, London becomes, for one week, the global capital of art and design.
